About
Our Philosophy
Work is love made visible
Amovita is born out of a creative partnership between husband and wife team Elizabeth and Michael Cairns. As CEO Elizabeth works full time for Amovita whilst Michael has a full time teaching job and is the brains (and the rock) behind the scenes.
Elizabeth is passionate about inspiring and achieving potential. An experienced facilitator and coach who gets to the heart of life and work, her mission with Amovita is to educate, inspire and motivate you to achieve what you may never have thought possible and to come to a deeper realisation and appreciation of your unique authentic self. Amovita is very much an embodiment of what is possible when you combine your passions with your talents and live an inspired and joyful life.
The purpose of our work is to:
- Help individuals and teams find vision, passion and purpose to unleash potential and move positively forwards
- Share our passion and vitality for life and to rekindle that spark in our clients
- Support teachers in education with the skills, confidence and tools for effective classroom management and more positive learning
- Enrich the lives of young people by providing educational programmes and workshops that inspire and empower them with the knowledge, skills and mindset to lead, happy healthy and successful lives
- Do what we love and love what we do!
Corporate Social Responsibility
The government defines Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) as the voluntary actions that business can take, over and above compliance with minimum legal requirements, to address both its own competitive interests and the interests of wider society.
Nature loves at heart nature lovers in action, we have a CSR policy that helps us to walk our talk, which in reality means:
- Walking, cycling and taking public transport where possible and being a one car household
- Recycling where possible
- Turning off lights, turning down heating, switching off at the wall, using less gas, conserving water
- Marketing electronically as much as possible
- Using recycled paper for those times when we do print and using printing companies with environmentally friendly policies
- Valuing and advocating fair international trade and supporting local people and local industries.
Principles we hold dear
We follow the presuppositions of NLP, some of our favourites being:
- There is a solution to every problem (you just have to look for it)
- People have all the resources they need, even if they do not currently have access to those resources
- The mind and body are part of one system and inextricably linked
- The meaning of your communication is the response you get
- You cannot not communicate
- More choice is better than no choice
- There is no failure only learning.
We also believe that it is easier to have what you really really want than it is to settle for what you think you can get
